UNESCO Bus Unveils New Routes Connecting Transylvania’s Cultural Gems
In March 2025, a new hop-on hop-off tourist bus service was launched in Transylvania, connecting UNESCO World Heritage sites between Sibiu, Sighișoara, and Brașov. Operated by Carpathian Travel Center in partnership with the Sibiu County Tourism Association, the UNESCO-Bus offers visitors a flexible and sustainable way to explore the region's rich cultural heritage.
The service features multiple lines, including the Red Line, which takes passengers through notable locations such as Brașov, Feldioara, Rupea, Viscri, Criț, Saschiz, and Sighișoara. Each destination is renowned for its fortified churches, Saxon traditions, and authentic landscapes, providing a unique experience of Transylvania's cultural heritage.
The buses operate on a reservation-only basis, with bookings required at least 10 hours before departure. This system ensures a personalized experience for travelers, allowing them to plan their visits to these historic sites conveniently.
